The North Dakota Broadband Mapping Application displays information developed as part of the North Dakota Broadband Mapping Project. The State of North Dakota received an intial grant award of approximately $1.3 million to map broadband services under the State Broadband Data and Development Grant Program. Funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, the program will increase broadband access and adoption through better data collection and broadband planning. In September of 2010 the State recieved an additional award of about $2 million for a total award of $3.7 million.
The U.S. Department of Commerce - National Telecommunications Infrastructure Administration (NTIA) is administering the program and the North Dakota Information Technology Department (ITD) is overseeing the mapping and planning project. The state has contracted with the firm of Tetra Tech, Inc., to perform the mapping portion of the project.
